The Kundasale Training Center was officially established in 1954. Former President of the Association, T.B. Panabokka, was granted a 10-acre parcel of land for the establishment of this center. The land was provided as a gift from President J.R. Jayewardene, following a request made by Minister Gamini Dissanayake, who served as Minister of Lands during Jayewardene’s presidency. At the outset, there were no trees on this land, which had been a dry, abandoned wasteland with rocks and iluk pits. Located in the Kundasale region, known for its naturally dry climate, the area was extremely arid and water-scarce.

From 1984 to 2005, this dry wasteland was transformed into a site with numerous water pools. The association is proud to have developed a beautiful training center, featuring 26 buildings, 3 lecture halls, and 2 canteens. The center now boasts lush forests, beautiful flowers, vegetable fields, various crops, and rare local medicinal plants. Over the past 21 years, it is noteworthy that no complaints have been received from the trainees, highlighting the success and quality of the center.
